Sheikh Russel KC taste first win in BPL

Ivorian midfielder Kpehi Didier Brossou scored a brace as Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra tasted their first win in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football beating Chittagong Abahani Limited by 4-2 goals in the second round match held today (Friday) at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj.

Apart from Kpehi Didier Brossou two goals in the match, defender Yeasin Khan and Nigerian forward Mfon Udoh supported him with a lone goal each for Sheikh Russel after leading the first half by 1-0 goal.

While Ivorian midfielder Yacouba Bamba and defender Nasiruddin Chowdhury Nasir netted one goal apiece for Chittagong Abahani Limited.

Didier put Sheikh Russel KC ahead in the 41st minute while after the breather Yeasin doubled the lead scoring the second goal for Sheikh Russel in the 52nd minute of the match.

Bamba pulled one back scoring the first goal for Chittagong Abahani Limited in the 64th minute while Nasir brought back Chittagong Abahani Limited in the match scoring the second goal in the 74th minute of the match.

Didier again put Sheikh Russel KC ahead scoring his second and third goal for Sheikh Russel in the 84th minute while Udoh sealed the victory scoring the fourth goal for Sheikh Russel KC in the 90+4th minute of the match.

Earlier, Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra suffered a 1-2 goal defeat to Bangladesh Police Football Club in their first round match.

On Saturday, traditional old Dhaka outfit Rahmatganj Muslim and Friends Society will play against Abahani Limited Dhaka at Bir Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj while Bangladesh Police Football Club meet Mohammedan Sporting Club Limited at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium in Mymensingh.

Both the matches kick off at 2:30 pm.
