Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd are seen during the BFF Players’ Auction 2023

Bashundhara Kings bought goalkeeper Md Asif with the highest bid of Tk 13, 25,000 in the BFF Players’ Auction for the upcoming season 2023-24, organised by Bangladesh Football Federation at the InterContinental Dhaka on Saturday.

A total of 10 players from BFF Elite Academy footballers, split into two categories — A and B, went under the hammer during the auction.

Asif along with five other players was in ‘A’ category with the primary (base) price of Tk 5 lakh while the rest of four players were in ‘B’ category, which had a base price of Tk 4 lakh.
Brothers Union Ltd bought defender Azizul Haque Ananta with the second highest bid of Tk 10,00,000 and Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd bought midfielder Chandan Roy with the third highest bid of Tk 9,00,000, both were from ‘A’ category.

Brothers also bought five other players — forward Mirazul Islam for Tk 6,50,000 from ‘A’ category and defenders Sirajul Islam Rana, Rubel Sheikh, Imran Khan, forward Sumon Suren for Tk 4,00,000 each from ‘B’ category.

Meanwhile, Dhaka Abahani Limited bought forward Asadul Mollah for Tk 7,75,000 and Fortis Football Club Ltd bought midfielder Sajed Hasan Jumman Nizhum for Tk 7,25,000.

BFF for the first time hosted an auction to sell players for the top tier clubs.

BFF president Kazi Salahuddin, vice-presidents Kazi Nabil Ahmed, Ataur Rahman Bhuiyan Manik and others were present during the auction.
