Sk Russel outplay Rahamatganj

Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ltd defeated Rahamatganj Muslim Friends Society by 3-2 goals during their penultimate match of the ongoing Bangladesh Premier League at the Bir Shrestha Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium in Munshiganj on Wednesday.

Midfielder Dipak Roy sealed the fate of the match by scoring two goals in the 66th and 76th minute respectively after Ghanaian forward Richard Gadze opened an account for Sheikh Russel in the 37th minute.
Tajik midfielder Siyovush Asrorov scored twice for the hosts Rahamatganj in the 83rd and 90+5th minutes respectively.

The day’s win sent Sheikh Russel to the seventh position from eighth in the points table with 28 points while Rahamatganj remained at ninth with their previous credit of 18 points.

Meanwhile, Mohammedan Sporting Club shared points with Bangladesh Police Football Club as their second leg match ended in a 1-1 draw at the Muktijuddho Sriti Stadium in Rajshahi.
Mohammedan’s Malian forward Souleymane Diabate took a 1-0 lead in the 28th minute while Police’s Ivorian forward Yao Christian Kouakou levelled the margin 1-1 in the 32nd minute.

Chattogram Abahoni Limited also played a 1-1 draw with Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra in the day’s third match at the Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium in Gopalganj.

Muktijoddha’s midfielder Tariqul Islam scored in the 2nd minute while Ctg Abahoni’s Nigerian forward Candy Augustine scored an equaliser in the 39th minute.

After the end of round 21, both Mohammedan and Police FC have 30 points while Chattogram Abahoni slip down to eighth with 28 points and Muktijoddha are in the 10th position with 16 points.
