Sheikh Russel School Table Tennis concludes

Hridoy emerged champion in the boys’ junior single final while Mou clinched title in the girls’ junior single final event of Sheikh Russel School Table Tennis Tournament at Shahid Tajuddin Indoor Stadium on Friday.
Hridoy of Rangpur Zilla School defeated Akash of BKSP by 3-0 games whereas Mou of Narail Govt Girls’ School won against Afsana of Rajshahi Education Board Model School by 3-0 games.
Besides, Tushi of Narail Govt Girls’ School won against Monami of KAFCO School, Chittagong by 3-1 games in the sub-junior single final while Toba of BKSP defeated San of Pabna Technical School by 3-0 games in the same event.
Moreover, Naimur Rahman won against Jahidul Islam in the disabled boys’ single final event whereas Sadia Akter Urmi defeated Bristy Khatun in the girls’ same event.
Furthermore, BKSP emerged champions in the boys’ final while Narail Govt Girls’ High School clinched title in the girls’ event. BKSP defeated Quantum Cosmo School by 3-0 games whereas Narail Govt. Girls’ High School won against Rajshahi Education Board Model School by 3-0 games.
Dr Sri Biren Sikder, State Minister for Youth and Sports distributed the prizes among the winners as the chief guest in the closing ceremony.
Dr Sajjad Haider, Adviser (International Affairs to MD of Bashundhara Group), Maksudur Rahman, Secretary of Managing Director of Bashundhara Group, President of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Nurul Alam Chowdhury, Director in-charge of Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra Ismat Jamil Akanda Lavlu, along with officials, journalists, participants and guardians, were also present on the occasion.
Dr Sri Biren Sikder said, “I thank all of the organizers to organize such excellent event to mark the 52nd birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, youngest son of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. Games and sports are the vital key to help the children to be ideal citizens. The competition carries a theme that is ‘Sports for Every Child’. All kinds of sports help children for flourishing both mentally and physically. This is the fundamental right of every child. One day these players will represent Bangladesh in the entire world. Bangladesh cricket team has already created a strong position in the field of world cricket. I am also very much glad to hear that twenty five specially disabled children have participated in the competition.”
Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra, in association with Bangladesh Table Tennis Federation, organised this tournament to mark the 52nd birth anniversary of Sheikh Russel, youngest son of father of the nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
Country’s one of the largest conglomerates Bashundhara Group patronized the tournament and Bashundhara Cement sponsored the competition.
Dhaka’s renowned schools and all of the district teams took part in the competition. 41 teams, 260 players participated in the competition.
Bashundhara Group is known for their participation in the sports arena of Bangladesh and patronizing sports to the mass people of the country.
