Bashundhara Group provides relief in Sirajganj

Bashundhara Group, a leading business conglomerate of the country, has continued providing food support to impoverished people in Sirajganj who has been hard hit by the pandemic.

Approximately 1,200 needy families received relief in four upazila of the district on Sunday.

The Group distributed relief items through Shuvosangho, the readers’ platform of the daily Kaler Kantho, in four upazilas of the district — Belkuchi, Chauhali, Shahjadpur and Ullahpara.

In Belkuchi upazila, some 300 families received the relief package each of which include 10 kg rice, 3 kg pulses and 3 kg wheat.

In Shahjadpur upazila, people who are mainly victims of river erosion received the relief. Upazila Parishad Chairman Azad Rahman participated in the relief activities in Al Jamia Madrasah.

In Chauhali, people who were adversely affected by flood received the goods. Former MP Abdul Latif Biswas took part in the event at Enayetpur High School of the town.

On the other hand, former MP Shafiqul Islam participated in the relief distribution event at Akbar Ali College in Ullahpara.
